Daisy of Love
on VH1
Episode Summary
WARNING: GRAPHIC CONTENT
The remaining contestants on VH1’s train wreck Daisy of
Love (Sundays, 9:00 p.m. ET) are fighting for Daisy’s love…literally. In
the June 7th episode, they are pitted against one another in
mixed-martial arts cage matches. Usually on the show, when a fight happens the
cups are filled with alcohol. This time, the contestants suit up in protective
gear for some pre-planned, testosterone-fueled carnage in a barbaric test to win
a date with Daisy. For violence, sexual content, and foul language, Daisy of
Love has once again been named Worst Cable TV Show of the Week.
When the contestants find out that they will be fighting one
another, some relish the opportunity while others quake in their boots. Among
the remaining contestants, one is a professional cage fighter and two have had
training in mixed martial arts. This disparity in ring experience becomes
immediately apparent as soon as 12-Pack steps into the ring with professional
fighter Big Rig. After 12-Pack gamely uses his wrestling experience to take his
opponent to the ground, Big Rig easily reverses position and mounts 12-Pack,
whose headgear goes flying off. Big Rig delivers a vicious blow to 12-Pack’s
unprotected nose. Once 12-Pack gets his headgear back on, Big Rig remounts him
and proceeds to pummel him mercilessly in the back of the head until 12-Pack
finally taps out. The other bouts ended fairly quickly with chokehold
submissions.
As a reward for having the most violent victory, Big Rig wins
a one-on-one date with Daisy. She escorts him to the bathroom suite decorated
with candles and rose petals. She takes off her robe, revealing a skimpy
bathing suit. Once inside the bubble bath, Daisy slathers bubbles over her
breasts. Big Rig buries his face in her cleavage and kisses her chest.
Afterwards, she straddles him as he carries her back to the room where he tells
her that he’s falling madly in love with her.
Sadly, though Big Rig may be barbaric, he’s at least
honorable compared to 6-Gauge and Fox. 6-Gauge admits that during his days as a
male stripper, he used to work women for money outside of the strip club. He
actually has the audacity to whine about how much attention he had to devote to
the women in order get money out of them. “It’s easier for girls to get money
out of guys than it is for guys to get money out of girls because I have to give
them constant attention and texting and calling, ‘Hey, how you doing?’ and
dah-dah-dah and it’s so fake ‘cause all it is, is money.” Daisy finds his past
behavior sad and desperate, leading 6-Gauge to wonder, “What the [bleeped
‘f***’] am I doing wrong?” Perhaps if he masked his misogyny better, Daisy
would actually find him attractive.
Alas, brilliance and sensitivity are not these men’s strong
points. Take Fox, for example. He had been living with his girlfriend of two
years and apparently failed to break up with her before coming onto the show.
Judging by his convoluted story and stammering excuses, it sounds as if he had
hoped to find a new sugar mama by winning Daisy of Love, but if he falls
short of that, he’d at least still have his old girlfriend in his back pocket to
provide a roof over his head. He’s confident that Daisy won’t kick him off the
show because according to him, “Daisy did the same [bleeped ‘f***ing’] thing.”
And, truth be told, he’s right. Daisy did do the same thing to Bret Michaels in
the second season of Rock of Love.
Sure enough, Daisy keeps Fox on the show. Pretty soon she’s
going to have to actually choose which violent or dishonorable man she wants to
be with.
For violence, sexual content, and foul language, Daisy of
Love has once again been named Worst Cable TV Show of the Week.
