Just as the season of one wretched FX show came to an end another one equally as vile began in its place.  The second season of Sons of Anarchy premiered on Tuesday September 8^th in Rescue Me’s 10:00 p.m. ET timeslot.  Like passing a baton, SOA didn’t miss a step in delivering the most violently graphic, sexually explicit content on cable television, thus earning it the title of Worst Cable TV Show of the Week.

The second season opener picked up where the first season left off:  Opie’s wife Donna had been murdered during a botched hit on Opie that the gang’s leader Clay had arranged.  To cover his tracks, Clay tells Opie that a rival Mayan Biker had been the gunman.  Opie and his biker brothers track down Donna’s supposed killer and drag him duct-taped to an abandoned factory. Opie stands over the Mayan with his gun.

“Tell me you did it,” Opie screams, “tell me you killed my wife!”

“I don't know what the hell you're talking about--

Opie sticks his gun in the Mayan's mouth, but the Mayan continues to insist that his gang had nothing to do with Donna’s murder.  “This wasn't the Mayans, man. Not our s***, I swear.”

Jax – who is protecting Clay - pulls Opie aside and tries to convince him the Mayan is the killer, but Opie refuses to kill the Mayan until he confesses. 

Opie argues, “If it was Tara with her head blown off, you'd be ripping off the guys fingers, one by one. I gotta know, Jackson.”

Meanwhile, Tig (who also knows Clay is responsible) stands guard over the Mayan and shoots him in the side of the face, near his mouth so he can’t talk.  Blood and gore splatters on the ground.

“No doubt, bro,” Jax insists, “this guy killed Donna.”

Opie shoots the Mayan in the head, killing him.  Opie then takes out his knife and carves an “A” for anarchy into the victim’s torso. 

Jax disposes of the body, but makes sure to obscure the “A” with more mutilation – by shooting the corpse full of more bloody holes. 

Meanwhile, a white supremacist group takes root in the town, intent on getting rid of the Sons.  The ruthless supremacists decide to send a message to Clay that they are not to be trifled with.  They kidnap Clay’s wife, Gemma, and gang-rape her.  She is shown handcuffed to a fence as masked men tug at her legs.  After one rapist finishes with her, another steps in and says, “I want you to pass on a message to your old man, tell him to stop selling guns to n****** and wet*****. Or we find you and we do this again.”  The horrifying rape continues.

In the season ender of Rescue Me, Tommy handcuffed his girlfriend to the bed and tortured her by throwing lit matches onto the mattress.  This week, Sons of Anarchy kicked of its season with a brutal gang rape.  Without a stumble, FX’s campaign of misogyny and violence towards women continues.  For this Sons of Anarchy has been named the Worst Cable TV Show of the Week.
