My name is Chad
Meli and welcome to the Little Rock/Heber Springs Chapter of the
Parents Television Council. Our chapter is extremely active in
our community and is growing weekly. Our main goal as a chapter
is to inform the members of our respective communities about our
individual responsibilities in monitoring and eliminating sexual
and profane content on television today. We strongly voice our
views and opinions to the national and local television
affiliates in the form of letters and telephone calls. We have
undertaken several letter writing campaigns to stations and
their advertisers that choose to display and support any type of
inappropriate content.
We give
speeches and presentations to a variety of community
organizations to include the Knights of Columbus, Ministerial
Alliance, PTA, etc. We use these opportunities to inform and
educate the community on how to reduce the amount of sex,
violence and profanity that is so prominent in television today.
Our chapter
is full of excited and motivated people from all over our
viewing area. We look forward to spearheading more positive
campaigns and doing our part in protecting our children from
inappropriate television content.
