"As a father of 4, ages 4-14, I have seen the influence that America's 'ratings-at-any-cost media' has had on my own kids, and I don't like it. The Parents Television Council has more than one million members nationally who feel, as I do, that children should not be a casualty of corporate business models. My goal is to recruit a million members in Florida alone. Together, we will educate advertisers, elected officials, and broadcast media companies about their responsibilities to our children." - Matt Butler

Matt Butler, New proposal would take video game restrictions and turn them into law, Naples News, January 15, 2006.

It is no exaggeration to say that video games can help train people to kill. Ask the people we trust most — the United States military.

The military succeeds at the difficult task of getting people to overcome their natural barriers to committing unthinkable acts of violence. They use video games to train our servicemen and women for the rigors of combat. The same games for children reward cop-killing, auto theft, and drug dealing. An underage child should not have the unilateral discretion to walk into a store and purchase such a product. This is common sense. more
