Chapter Director Bio:
Central
Illinois Chapter Director Dayton Loyd is one of the hardest
working men in the PTC. Not only did Dayton recently celebrate
the birth of his fourth child with his wife Danielle (also a
chapter director for our Carbondale/Paducah Chapter) and
continue his stellar work as one of the PTC's longest serving
chapter directors for one of the biggest chapters in our ever
growing network of 28 chapters across the country, but Dayton
also holds down a very important job keeping us all safe, and
not just from the violence on TV.
In his position with the Department of Homeland Security, Dayton
is the Head of Military Intelligence and Communications for a
five state region of Operation Noble Eagle, Homeland Security and as part of
that role was in Washington DC during the Presidential
Inauguration. Dayton was part of thousands of faceless Americans
who worked to ensure that this event went off without any
problems. Dayton, pictured while taking a break from his duties
in front of the Capitol, also fit some other work into his brief
downtime. Dayton was quoted in a PTC press release about
concerning his local CBS affiliates decision to air an episode
of "Without a Trace" on New Years Eve that had received over
7,000 complaints to the FCC after its first run. Dayton found
time to conduct 4 interviews for radio and print media on the
subject during inauguration week. Never to missing an
opportunity to spread the word of the PTC, Dayton distributed
PTC fliers and information to national law makers and to high
traffic areas of the capitol during this busy week of
festivities. Once the ceremony was complete officially beginning
President Bush's second term Dayton's work was not done. Dayton
describes his post-inauguration duties: "Once I was done in DC I
drove 800 miles to Fort McCoy Wisconsin to greet and oversee the
return of some very happy soldiers returning from Iraq, while on
my trip I became snowed-in in Chicago and was trapped there for
a day which really put me under the gun to get things done at
McCoy. The preparation for the soldiers returning also included
all the family members and media that showed up. In the middle
of all this I was able to speak to each that requested an
interview and I think each went well."
