CHAPTER DIRECTOR BIO:
Michael D'Andria,
a Military Veteran and Pastor, is the Chapter Director for
Raleigh Durham, North Carolina. D'Andria dedicated a large
portion of his education and career to the United States Army.
After receiving degrees from the U.S. Army in Finance &
Disbursing in Transportation & Parts Supply Specialization in
1966 and 1967, respectively, D'Andria went on to also achieve
diplomas from the Advanced Non Commissioned Officers Academy and
the Technical Careers Institute. Most recently, he received his
diploma qualifying him as a Unit Administrator from Camp
Robinson in North Little Rock, Arkansas.
Throughout his
education, D'Andria has worked simultaneously for the Army. Over
a twenty year career he held numerous positions including
Platoon Sergeant. Following a heart attack, Mike retired from
the Army on a 100% disability. He then returned to school and
has since received his Bachelor of Theology. Since 2001 Rev.
Mike has presided as Assistant Pastor at Calvary Missionary
Methodist Church. He supplements this with a online ministry,
which hundreds of people subscribe to. Additionally, D'Andria
keeps in touch with his military background and experience
through his participation in North Carolina's chapter of The
Veterans Party of America, of which he is the State Chairman. He
is also the Commander and organizer of ALLVETS, Inc. and a
member of W.H.A.T.I.F., a political action committee for his
community.
D'Andria's
dedication to his country and his faith exemplify his leadership
skills and devotion to personal passions. Friends of D'Andria
cite that he is a "good hearted man with great ambition."
D'Andria applies this enthusiasm and purpose to his
contributions to the PTC. He has successfully recruited new
members and made his chapter very active in his community. He
has organized speeches with churches, PTA's, civic groups, and
various leaders in Raleigh, Durham. His chapter has contacted
every organization and elected official with influence over
local television to "educate and inform them of the importance
of reducing the sex, violence, and profanity on television today
and in the future." D'Andria has conducting surveys in the TV
market area in order to gauge his community's thoughts, likes,
dislikes, and comments concerning the present and future state
of television. He believes that what "we as parents,
grandparents, and protectors accomplish today will have a
profound effect on our children and their future." By supporting
and administering the PTC's mission, he is "showing children
that action can make things right."
