CHAPTER DIRECTOR BIO:
Thank
you for visiting our web page! I'm Ruth Cosby, chapter director
for the Dallas/Fort Worth PTC chapter. Our chapter is over 300
members strong and
growing! Chapter efforts are led by a leadership team that
includes regional directors who cover different geographical
regions in our large broadcast area.
We are currently involved in articulating our community's
standards for broadcasting to local networks and advertisers.
Parents and other concerned citizens in our area want quality
 entertainment for our children, free from sexual content,
profanity and violence that can produce harmful effects. By
joining our chapter, you can add your name to this list of
individuals that support this mission . . . the PTC mission.
There is strength in numbers! That simple act alone, without
any further obligation or time
commitment, can make a difference! So join us!
We are also involved in community outreach efforts, giving
speeches and hosting displays at local schools, churches, clubs,
and community events. You can contact us at our email address
if you know of a group that would be interested in learning more
about the effects of media and what they can do to reduce
harmful effects. If you would like to become a more actively

"strength of numbers" silent participant, or an actively engaged

New DFW Chapter winner of Highway to Heaven DVD Cheryl Richard, Flower Mound Texas states "I'm thrilled that the PTC can help me to provide better media for my family. I support the mission of the PTC."
Cheryl won this in a drawing at a Home and Family Enrichment (Mom's Club) meeting which sponsored Ruth Cosby, DFW chapter director as speaker on the topic "Parenting and Media: Strategies for Supporting Good Media and Speaking Out against Harmful Media Practices and Content." All the members at this meeting who were not already members of the chapter joined the DFW Chapter and participated in the drawing. |
