The Parents Television Council received the respect it deserves in an Oct. 23 news story, "Parents TV council gets local push." The story was about John and Monie Thompson of Bellevue, who have volunteered to organize a local chapter of the PTC in Nebraska.

I compliment The World-Herald for covering an organization that is taking on the entertainment industry to discourage graphic TV content made available to children.

It is time for this type of programming to come to a halt, and the PTC appears to be the only group that can wage a substantial battle against the moral destruction of the minds of young people.

I appreciate the good reporting and also the Oct. 23 Midlands Voices commentary, "Empower consumers in city-cable TV deals," by the Rev. Val Peter on the same subject.
