PTC Awards Entertainment Seal of Approval™ to TiVo KidZone

LOS ANGELES (October 11, 2006) - The Parents Television Council™, the nation's most influential advocacy organization protecting children against sex, violence and profanity in entertainment, today announced that it has awarded its prestigious Entertainment Seal of Approval™ to TiVo for a new feature of the TiVo® service called TiVo KidZone.

TiVo KidZone enables parents to select and pre-approve what television shows they deem appropriate for their children for live or recorded viewing with a fast, easy, no-hassles approach.  It creates an exclusive area within the TiVo service for children to enjoy these selections, while hiding all other content from view.  And TiVo KidZone allows parents to rely on specific program recommendations from family organizations like the Parents Television Council to assure there is always a menu of quality kids programming to choose from whenever the child turns on the TV.

"I am so excited by the TiVo KidZone feature that I personally installed a TiVo box in my daughter's room.  My wife and I now have the peace of mind knowing that our daughter is watching only those programs that we have approved," said Tim Winter, executive director of the PTC™.  "This is one of the best tools I've seen for parents who want to protect their children from the graphic sexual content and horrendous violence that is so pervasive on today's television programming."

"This recognition of TiVo KidZone from PTC is an honor and assures parents that KidZone can be trusted to help keep kids safe in front of the TV," said Tom Rogers, CEO of TiVo.  "We believe it is important to provide parents with useful tools they can use that reflect their family's values, while enjoying the best way to watch television."
