LOS ANGELES, CA - The Parents Television Council,
the nation's most influential advocacy organization protecting children against
sex, violence and profanity in entertainment™
named Coca-Cola an Advertiser Seal of Approval recipient for 2005-2006.
Annually the Parents Television Council names
the top ten advertisers that support, through their television advertising,
programs that are socially-responsible and family-friendly. The award salutes
corporations that promote quality entertainment, rather than programs that are
filled with gratuitous sexual content, graphic violence or profanity.
"We commend Coca-Cola for being a responsible
advertiser," PTC Executive Director Tim Winter said. "By placing their
advertisements on shows that are positive and not violent or sexually graphic,
Coca-Cola is showing its respect for American families."
Begun in 1886 the company has evolved from one
product (Coca-Cola) to more than 400 brands in 2006. It's grown from selling a
modest nine drinks a day in 1886 to more than 1.3 billion a day! Coca-Cola is
currently sold in more than 200 countries around the world.
