LOS ANGELES (May 24, 2007) - The
Parents Television Council™ today announced that it
has awarded its Entertainment Seal of Approval™ to
the DVD Coral
Reef Adventure, a MacGillivray Freeman
Film originally created for exhibition in IMAX®
Theatres.
“Coral
Reef Adventure is not only a stunning
visual production, but it has a strong educational
value for the entire family,” PTC™ President Tim
Winter said. “It is because of films such as this
that our Entertainment Seal of Approval was
created.”

include Amazing
Grace,
Cars, Charlotte’s Web, Chronicles of Narnia, Deal or
No Deal, Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, Happy Feet,
High School Musical, March of the Penguins,
and The Lake
House, to name a few.

audiences to the beautiful world of coral reefs and
shows that these valuable ecosystems are in danger
of vanishing if we don’t do more to protect them,”

Coral Reef Adventure follows the
real-life expedition of two ocean explorers and
underwater filmmakers, Howard and Michele Hall, on a
daring 10-month journey to document some of the
world’s largest, most beautiful and most endangered
coral reefs. On their journey from Australia’s
Great Barrier Reef to the majestic islands of Fiji
and Tahiti and the mysterious Rangiroa atoll, the
Halls meet with scientists and naturalists such as
famed ocean explorer Jean-Michel Cousteau and deep
reef ichthyologist Richard Pyle who are all part of
a growing global effort to build greater
understanding of these fragile and essential
ecosystems.
Coral Reef Adventure is produced
by MacGillivray Freeman Films in association with
the Museum of Science, Boston; the National Wildlife
Federation, Lowell, Blake and Associates and
MacGillivray Freeman Films Educational Foundation
with major funding from National Science
Foundation. The film was originally created for
exhibition in IMAX theatres and is still being shown
in select IMAX theatres and other giant screen
theatres throughout the country. The production is
narrated by actor Liam Neeson and features songs
written and recorded by Crosby, Stills & Nash.
