Bethel Park Resident Named First Director
LOS ANGELES (July 23, 2007) —
The Parents Television Council™,
the nation’s most influential advocacy organization
protecting children from graphic sex, violence and
profanity in the media, announced Deborah Dell as
the director of the Pittsburgh Chapter. This is the
second chapter in Pennsylvania, growing the PTC’s
powerful network of activists.
As the Director of the Pittsburgh
Chapter, Dell brings a diverse background in local
charities and public service to her position. Dell
is involved in her community through several
organizations. Her work for Life Outreach
International has helped to raise money for building
water wells in impoverished nations. She is a
member of the Ladies of Charity, a church
organization that helps provide meals to battered
women in her neighborhood. In addition, Dell is
working with the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food
Bank in educating first and second graders on the
importance of community service and homeless issues.
A mother of two, Dell said, “What
children are exposed to and taught will largely
determine the quality of both their futures and
ours. My goal as chapter director is to educate and
motivate the community in initiating positive
changes in the types of entertainment that is
invited into our homes.” Dell added, “I will
encourage local television, their advertisers, and
their affiliates for a return to integrity and
socially responsible entertainment.”
Tim Winter, president of
the PTC said, “Experienced community
leaders like Deborah bring a wealth of knowledge and
a passion for positive social change. Her
dedication to serving the public paired with her
commitment to educating children and communities
attest to Deborah’s strength as a leader and as a
person. I am happy to welcome Deborah into the PTC
family and expect great things from her chapter.”
