Brian Urie Becomes
New Chapter Director
LOS ANGELES—
The Parents Television Council, the nation’s most influential advocacy
organization protecting children from graphic sex, violence and profanity in
the media, announced Brian Urie as the new Director of the Salt Lake City
Chapter. A proven leader, Urie brings a new sense of energy to the
SLC Chapter.
A proud father of three, Urie has become
disgusted with the outrageous and lurid programming being shown. He fears
that the constant barrage of violence and sex is harming tomorrow’s future.
The SLC Chapter will aid parents who feel lost against the Goliath of the
entertainment industry by educating the public and encouraging activism.
Urie will
create a strong voice for parents in his community, “While interviewing a
Boy Scout for a merit badge recently, he taught me that when a musical
instrument is in tune, it produces more volume. Similarly, when all
concerned parent's voices are united, it's difficult for decision makers to
ignore the volume. I decided to get involved because the PTC struck me as
the loudest voice that was in tune with my own thoughts and desires for
television network programming.”
“Brian will
carry on the tradition of strong leadership for the SLC Chapter” said Tim
Winter, President of the PTC. He added, “He brings
energy and an unwavering passion for protecting children from today’s
unabashed programming. I know great things will come from the SLC Chapter.”
