Parents Television Council
Launches 2nd Alabama Chapter
Alabaster businessman becomes director
of Central Alabama Chapter
LOS ANGELES— The Parents Television Council, the nation’s
most influential advocacy organization protecting children
from graphic sex, violence and profanity in the media,
announced Patrick Lee Bush as the director of the Central
Alabama Chapter..
Bush, a father of three, hopes to educate parents about some
of the dangers of televised entertainment, “I think it’s
important that people know exactly what is being fed to our
children via television. Most parents are unaware of what
their kids are witnessing and its possible effects while
those that are aware are exasperated and overwhelmed since
there is no safe haven left for youth and families. Even
the v-chip has proven to be a faulty tool for parents who
have searched for help in protecting their families,” says
Bush. His chapter will focus on issues like bringing back
the family-hour and giving consumers cable choice, while
providing families with the most recent news and information
regarding entertainment to allow them to make informed and
healthy programming decisions.
Bush has devoted his life to helping children and being an
active member of his community. He created a charter school
system in which children are placed in schools based on
intellect rather than their family’s monetary flow, a
counselor to fathers on how to better communicate with their
children, a former Tee Ball coach, and recipient of the
Ewing Marion Kauffman Award for Community Service. Bush is
proud to dedicate his time and effort to be part of the
PTC’s mission. Bush presently works as Director of Associate
Development for a Fortune 200 Automotive Retailer
PTC President Tim Winter said, “Patrick Bush is a dedicated
community leader. His achievements helping the children of
Alabama show that when he sets his mind to something it gets
done. We are proud to add such a committed individual to our
grassroots leadership team.”
