As this season of
Dancing With the Stars has drawn to an end, fans everywhere have been left
with a good feeling about the future of this immensely popular show. The episode
that aired November 8th reunited favorites of seasons past with this
year's finalists for an exciting and entertaining night.
It is the dancing
that draws audiences back week after week. The episode began with Mario Lopez
and his partner, Karina Smirnoff reprising the tango that won them favor with
the judges the night before. The elegant and intricate dance draws a standing
ovation from the audience. In the next segment a dance inspired by James Bond
features three debonair men and three beautiful women whirling around the dance
floor to the original Bond theme. But it would not be an end-of season
spectacular if some stars from seasons past didn't make an appearance. Willa
Ford, Lisa Rinna, Joey McIntyre and Harry Hamlin paired up with their
professional partners for an exuberant jitterbug to "Footloose" to promote the
upcoming Dancing With the Stars tour.
Of course, it was a
much-anticipated episode. One more couple faced dismissal before the final
competition. Joey Lawrence, Emmitt Smith and Mario Lopez seemed equally
talented, equally hard-working and equally likeable thus making it impossible
anyone to guess who might not be going to the final. Support and enthusiasm
seemed to be the reigning themes for the evening. Mario, Joey and Emmitt express
their admiration for each other throughout the show. The professionals they
dance with praise their pupils and stress the importance of having a good work
ethic and a positive attitude in any endeavor.
When Joey Lawrence
and his partner Edyta Sliwinska are voted off, Joey graciously thanks everyone
on the show who supported him but most importantly, his family. In a re-cap of
Joey's experience he is shown saying "I'm gonna be dancing for my wife and for
my baby. That's it." Joey then praises his dancing partner Edyta and expresses
his gratitude for her support and patience. Edyta in turn talks about the joy of
teaching someone who is willing to work as hard and with as much enthusiasm as
Joey.
Dancing With the
Stars will surely continue to make regular appearances as our Best of
the Week if it continues to celebrate good sportsmanship, good work
ethics, and dedication while providing family-friendly entertainment for
audiences everywhere.
