The Loop on Fox

By Josh Shirlen

Foxs raunchy summer series The Loop returned on June 10th, living down to its previous record of being one of the crudest shows on television.  The dialogue leapfrogs from one sexually charged punch-line to the next, showing no regard for family viewers in its 8:30 ET/PT (7:30 CT/MT) time slot.

In the episode entitled The Window, main character Sam is challenged by his boss Russ to flatter an airport developer from Reykjavik into giving the company a good deal on terminal space.  Sam decides to give the airport executives a bizarre tusk which looks like an oversized sex toy.  The dialogue ensures that we the viewers see it as that.  Here are some other vulgar examples of sexual innuendo and dialogue from this weeks episode:

  • Russ: Im going to tie a rope to your pork sword and kick you off the balcony.

  • Sam: Did my package come?

Sully: No, but mine did.

  • Cara: You had me right up to the colon.

Sam: Id love to have you right up to the colon.

  • Derrick: You look like Miss Tel Aviv after we did it on a trash barge. Dreidel, dreidel, dreidel, I never saw her face. Chuppah!

  • Derrick: I thought Id take your new secretail upstairs for a little pre-game.  Maybe put my (bleeped) in her (bleeped expletive).

The Loop is has a simple formula: place the main character in a random conundrum, litter the script with taboo sexual dialogue and situations, and put it on the air in the family hour.  The writers of this program show no regard for younger viewers or families who may be watching their program. For that reason The Loop is once again our pick for Worst of the Week.
