Are You Smarter
Than a 5th Grader? has been one of the most successful shows of
the past year, as it has provided lighthearted entertainment for audiences of
all ages. The Graduation episode that aired on September 28th gave
audiences a chance to see the “class” that they’ve grown to love make their last
appearance, and to get ready to welcome the new class which will challenge and
delight audiences in the coming year.
The episode began
with Josh Arnold returning to resume his bid to win a million dollars. Josh
immediately stumbled on a question about Greek mythology, then dropped out when
he was unable to answer a question regarding the Virginia Plan.
The next competitor
was a tennis teacher named Greg Johnson. Greg, a competitive father who
confessed that he can’t even let his own kids win at a game of Candyland, was
anxious to prove that he can leave the game without having to utter the dreaded
words, “I am not smarter than a fifth grader.”
Greg went on to
answer questions about elementary geography, science, world history , astronomy
and more before stumbling on a U.S. History question. He left the game with
$175,000. The biggest surprise of the night however, came when the members of
the “graduating” 5th grade class were each presented with a $25,000
savings bond to put toward their college education.
Are You Smarter
Than a 5th Grader? remains one of the best programs on television
and an ideal choice for family viewing. The new class of 5th graders
who made their debut this episode will continue to inspire and entertain
audiences for the coming year.
