Christmas in
Rockefeller Center
on NBC
By

Now that Thanksgiving is
over, it’s time to focus on Christmas. This holiday season is a time for many
things, and also a time to celebrate many traditions. One of those traditions is
the lighting of the tree in New York’s Rockefeller Center. NBC has established a
tradition of broadcasting this stellar holiday event with Christmas in
Rockefeller Center. The dazzling holiday sights combined with the clean,
wholesome entertainment make the November 28th broadcast our
Best of the Week.
A combination of rising
musicians and established legends helped enliven the festivities. Performers
such as Josh Groban, Carrie Underwood, Tony Bennett and Celine Dion sang
Christmas standards such as “O Come All Ye Faithful,” “Do You Hear What I Hear,”
“Santa Claus is Comin’ To Town,” and “The Christmas Song.” The broadcast
culminated in the lighting of the 80-foot, 30,000-light tree, a grand spectacle
indeed.
For combining the best
sights of the Christmas season with entertainment suitable for the entire
family, we’re pleased to honor Christmas in Rockefeller Center as
the Best of the Week.
