Contact Congress: DEMAND FCC Action against American Dad!

On Sunday night (January 3rd), the Fox broadcast network program American Dad featured a man masturbating a horse.

We're sorry to be so explicit, but you need to know exactly what's airing on broadcast TV -- the public airwaves that YOU own -- and on an animated program that is one of the most popular programs with children as young as 2-11.

If you believe that masturbating a horse violates the federal broadcast decency law -- the law that prohibits broadcasters from airing indecent material when children are likely to be in the audience -- then we urgently need you to take action now.

Sadly this isn't the first time that television writer Seth MacFarlane has featured bestiality on the public airwaves. But with your help, hopefully we can make this the LAST time.

Please click here to file a formal complaint with the Federal Communications Commission, and to tell your representatives in Congress that this kind of content has no place on broadcast television.

To read the dialogue and view the clip from the January 3rd episode of American Dad (which aired at 9:30 p.m. ET/PT -- only 8:30 p.m. in the Midwest), click here.
WARNING: Explicit Content!

This episode also included graphic scenes of a character ripping a woman's arm from its socket, and bleeped uses of the f-word. The program was rated aired TV-14 DLSV by Fox, meaning that in the network's opinion, this content was appropriate for 14-year olds.

PLEASE DON'T ALLOW THIS KIND OF MATERIAL TO BECOME THE NEW “ACCEPTABLE NORM” FOR BROADCAST TELEVISION. PLEASE TAKE ACTION NOW!!

Please file your official complaint with the Federal Communications Commission, and then contact your representatives in Congress and demand that they force the FCC to do their job!

When the new FCC Chairman, Julius Genachowski, was being questioned by the US Senate at his confirmation hearing, he promised the FCC would enforce the broadcast decency law.

And last year the Supreme Court AFFIRMED the FCC's legal right to enforce the broadcast decency law.

Yet today, the FCC is sitting on a BACKLOG of 1.6 MILLION indecency complaints from American citizens -- and thus far has REFUSED TO TAKE ACTION!

This is proof positive that the FCC is asleep at the switch -- AGAIN!

In the past, concerned citizens like you have contacted the FCC with your concerns, and your activism made a positive impact.

In 2004, the PTC and its members put pressure on Congress to hold the FCC accountable for failing to enforce broadcast decency laws. That pressure resulted in the passage of laws to give the FCC enforcement some teeth and led to record fines against broadcasters who violated the law.

We turned the tide once before -- we can do it again.

You and your children have the right not to be assaulted in your own living room with bestiality and other indecent content. Congress has oversight power on the FCC. After you file your formal indecency complaint with the FCC, please take a moment to contact your Senators and Congressmen and tell them to DEMAND that the FCC fulfill its responsibility to uphold the law!

Please click here and take action today!!

With urgent thanks,

Your friends at the Parents Television Council
