Family Time with Santa By Ayla Montgomery
Release Date:
MPAA Rating: Genre: Family Film
Family Time with Santa is a unique interactive DVD with a strong emphasis on
family togetherness, among other things. This film strongly encourages families
to come together and watch each of the twelve episodes on its corresponding
night leading up to Christmas, beginning with December 13th. Each night Santa
takes viewers on a different journey to explore various themes such as Santa's
hobbies, Mrs. Claus, how to follow your dreams, how taffy is made, what the
North Pole is like and others. Also included are a few stories designed to teach
children different values including the importance of helping people. Viewers
are also encouraged to visit to the DVD's website and download a free calendar
in order to keep track of the time they have spent with Santa.
The overall message of the movie is in the title; family time. Family Time with
Santa is definitely something parents can watch and enjoy with their children.
There is not a hint of foul language, sex or violence anywhere in the DVD. Each
episode offers a positive message to everyone. In one of the episodes, where the
importance of giving back to the community is stressed, Santa visits a toy
factory. The episode shows volunteers who graciously give up their time in order
to build small cars and trucks to enhance the lives of less fortunate children
of different poverty stricken countries. In addition to a look into the life of
Santa, viewers are given a glimpse into the lives of actual children and how
they set various goals and achieved them by persevering and practice. Older
children might not find the DVD very relevant to their lives as it relates to
Santa Claus, but younger children who still believe will definitely enjoy
spending time with the family and exploring the life of jolly old Saint Nick.
Estimated age range: All ages
