The adventures of Anne Shirley (Kim Braden) continue in L. M. Montgomery's beloved Anne of Avonlea.  The film adaptation of this classic tale is suitable for children 9 and up and is sure to please the whole family.

The story opens with Anne preparing to begin her job teaching the children of Avonlea while serving as secretary of the newly founded Village Improvement Society.  The death of a neighbor brings two orphans to live with Anne and Marilla (Barbara Hamilton), and results in Anne's decision to set aside her dream of attending college.  Education comes in many forms though and Anne learns much about politics, human nature and marriage in Avonlea.  Eventually her dreams of going to college are realized and Anne must make a difficult life choice.  Where does her heart truly lie?

Anne of Avonlea is brilliantly acted and tells an amazing story of love, loss, compassion and patience. It is a worthy addition to a family's film library.
