Take a trip to the undersea
world in Deep Sea. This amazing documentary, narrated by Johnny Depp
and Kate Winslet, treats the viewer to the rarely seen world deep beneath
the ocean's surface.
Deep Sea,
originally filmed in IMAX 3D, transports the audience around the globe to
observe the magical and mystifying habitats of ocean dwellers. The amazing
cinematography stunningly captures the unusual relationships that are formed
between
different creatures of the deep, and how those alliances help them
survive. From the Green Sea
Turtle who
allows schools of fish to clean its
shell of unwanted algae, to the Mantis Shrimp who takes on a threatening
octopus and wins, Deep Sea is engaging, entertaining and
educational. The film also stresses the importance of the preservation of
coral reefs, explaining that by removing just one species from the ecosystem
many others are affected, and that if enough species are removed the whole
thing will collapse.
Overall Deep Sea is a
colorful and captivating journey through the undersea world; however parents
should be aware that some children may be upset by depictions of the food
chain in action as fish feed on other fish. This film can be enjoyed by
children ages 6 and up, along with their families.
