Produced in Finland and dubbed into English, the Christmas Story DVD tells the story of the childhood and maturing of Nicholas, the boy who grows up to become Santa Claus.

There is no offensive content in Christmas Story. Nicholas is orphaned when his parents and baby sister drown, though this happens off-camera. Nicholas is adopted by Isaac the carpenter, a lonely old man who is initially gruff and harsh with him; but over time, as Nicholas becomes skilled in woodworking and becomes the son Isaac wishes he had had, they grow to love one another. There are a few moments of sadness in the film, but many more showing the joy Nicholas receives from giving gifts to others.

Christmas Story will make a delightful stocking-stuffer for younger children, and its story of the life of Santa never grows old. The PTC is pleased to award Christmas Story with the PTC Seal of ApprovalTM. This DVD is appropriate for children over age five.
