Sawyer Nelson is a depressed, lonely little boy. Since his father
deserted his family, Sawyer has refused to take an interest in anything…until he
helps to save a wounded dolphin which washes up on the beach. This leads to
Sawyer’s involvement with Clearwater Marine Aquarium, a friendship with young
Hazel and her father Clay who run the service, and most of all, to a love for
Winter, the rescued dolphin. When Winter’s tail must be amputated, Sawyer –
inspired by the example of his wounded war veteran cousin, Kyle – proposes
providing a prosthetic tail for Winter. But with foreclosure threatening the
Aquarium, can Sawyer and Hazel find a way to save Winter and the other animals?
Based on a true story, Dolphin Tale moving and inspirational
story showing the love that can blossom between animals and humans, and the
importance of being good stewards of the environment. It also shows the
positive difference that one determined individual – even a child -- can make to
a cause and community…and that love and hope can change the world.
Filled with positive messages, a delightful story, and a talented
