Love Comes Softly

Love Comes Softly
opens with an unlikely scenario for romance, but it later proves that patience
and compassion can lead to healing and love. Newly widowed after pioneering to
the west, Marty Claridge is approached by Clark Davis, a widower himself with a
young daughter, proposing a solution to their immediate problem - a marriage of
convenience. He needs a motherly influence for his growing daughter, while
Marty is nearly penniless and homeless.
Marty, so overcome by her own grief and pain, is
little use to her new family. But soon the challenges of farm life and
mothering Clark's obstinate, tomboy daughter, Missy, distract her from her own
sorrows. Clark, a man of quiet faith, is loving and gentle as he coaxes his
daughter and Marty into a mother-daughter relationship. Eventually, his examples
of optimism and compassion unite the two women – turning three polite strangers
into a family.
Love Comes Softly
is perfect for the entire family. There is no foul language, inappropriate
sexual content, or violence. The historical setting will easily satisfy fans of
the Little House on the Prairie
series, the Sarah Plain and Tall
trilogy, or fans of classic movie westerns.
