ABC's
Music Man is a Sure-Fire
Family Friendly Hit
ABC has already led the other broadcast networks
in offering more options for family audiences with the creation of a TV family
hour this past fall. ABC continues to shine with high-quality, family-friendly
original movies, which are highlighted during the Sunday night presentations of
the "Wonderful World of Disney."
This Sunday, February 16, ABC will air a
made-for-TV production of Meredith Willson's
The Music Man. Matthew Broderick
stars as Professor Harold Hill, a charming and charismatic traveling salesman
who arrives in a small Iowa town planning to con the residents by promising to
equip and train a boy's marching band then skip town with the parents' money.
But his plans change when he unexpectedly falls in love with the town's stuck-up
librarian/piano-teacher, Marion Paroo, played by Kristin Chenoweth.
This entertaining musical is a sure-fire
family-friendly hit. The movie contains no inappropriate language, sexual
content, or violence, meaning parents can feel at ease letting their children
watch this charming movie.
