Nip/Tuck on FX

Episode Summary

WARNING: GRAPHIC CONTENT

After a hiatus of nearly a year, Nip/Tuck (Tuesdays, 10:00 p.m. ET) returned to the FX network with a new episode this week.  Too bad the break didn’t last longer.  The episode that aired on January 6th contained all the hallmarks of Nip/Tuck – blood, guts, cursing, and sex, punctuated by ridiculous melodrama.  For explicit sexual content and graphic violence, Nip/Tuck has been named Worst Cable TV Show of the Week.

The episode begins where the last one left off:  Dr. Sean McNamara’s psychotic agent-cum-stalker, Colleen Rose, sneaks into Sean’s medical suite as he is about to operate on a patient.  She wanders into the kitchen and finds a large butcher knife, which she uses to stab him in the back repeatedly.  Blood gushes from his mouth as he slowly bleeds to death.  She drags Sean into a supply closet.  Sean’s medical partner, Dr. Christian Troy, follows the trail of blood.  While he attempts to kick the door down, Sean grabs the knife laying next him and uses it to kill Colleen.  Christian discovers Sean and Colleen in a pool of blood.

Flash forward four months.  Sean is confined to a wheelchair due to the injuries he sustained in the attack.  Meanwhile, Christian is diagnosed with breast cancer.  Both middle-aged men forget their sorrows with two young women willing to offer them pity-sex.  An extended montage flips between Sean and Christian’s encounters.  Christian’s partner performs oral sex while she’s hidden underneath his covers.  Sean’s partner reclines as she unties her bikini bottom and he slides his face between her legs.  Christian has sex with his date from behind, covering her breasts with his hands.  While he gropes her, he thinks he feels a lump in her breast.  She assures him that she recently had a mammogram.  He makes an insensitive comment about her age and she gets annoyed and leaves.  “Next time you want a sympathy screw,” she barks, “try showing a little sympathy.”  Meanwhile, Sean’s completely naked partner bounces on his lap, her arms covering her breasts.  They climax and fall backwards off of his wheelchair.  “That was the most amazing sex I’ve ever had,” she coos.  “Really?” Sean asks.  “Oh yeah,” she replies, “Doing it in a chair like that, I’m addicted.  How soon can you be ready again?”

With the second part of the show’s fifth season now slated to air, viewers can expect to see more of the same from this blood-soaked, sex-laced medical soap opera.  Even if television viewers refuse to watch the show, every cable subscriber pays for it.  If you’re tired of being forced to support this kind of horrifically graphic material, you can TAKE ACTION NOW!
