Dirty Sexy Money on ABC
ABC’s returning drama Dirty
Sexy Money certainly strives to live up to its name, with a scene airing on
the October 29th episode (10:00 p.m. ET) arguably delivering on
two-thirds of the title. For sexually explicit content, Dirty Sexy Money
has been named Worst TV Show of the Week.
The scene takes place in a
steam-filled shower. Jeremy Darling leans against the tiles with his head
tilted back. He says to someone off-camera, “I need a favor.” Prosecutor Nola
Lyons, pops into frame and kisses Jeremy while she replies, “I just did you a
favor. You’re double-dipping.” Jeremy asks if Nola can obtain a one-night
furlough so that his mother - who is under house arrest while she awaits the
start of her murder trial - can attend an election party. Nola happens to be
the prosecuting attorney for the case. “Jeremy, I can’t just go into the
judge’s office and ask for favors on your mother’s behalf. That would just be
weird,” Nola says. “Not as weird,” Jeremy counters, “if I went into her [the
judge’s] office, told her what you just did to me … or what I’m about to do to
you.” Jeremy sits Nola down and descends out of frame, suggesting Jeremy is
about to perform oral sex on her, in return. Nola asks, “Who taught you how to
play hardball?” “You,” Jeremy replies. “I like it,” she coos.
In less than fifty seconds, the
scene manages to finish one implication of oral sex and by the end, begin a new
one. Though the rest of the episode is not as racy, the suggestive nature of
the scene warrants concern since the show airs at 9:00 p.m. in the Central and
Mountain time zones. This scene alone should have gotten the show a TV-14
rating instead of the PG rating it was given.
For this sexually suggestive
content, Dirty Sexy Money rightfully deserves Worst TV Show of the
Week.
