STOP NBC From Airing The Playboy Club!

NBC has announced that, as part of its fall lineup, it will air The Playboy Club, a program set in the 1960s at one of the clubs inspired by the pornographic magazine. But some stations  are fighting back. Utah NBC affiliate KSL announced last week that it would not show the program, stating that the station’s values are “completely inconsistent with the Playboy brand."

Broadcast stations are required by law to take into account the public interest. YOU are a member of the public. Is showing The Playboy Club in prime time to children consistent with YOUR values? If YOU want to do something about the flood of “entertainment” glamorizing pornography and sexualizing YOUR little girls, YOU can TAKE ACTION NOW!

As a result, the PTC received hate mail and even death threats from some of Rihanna’s fans. But as Industry Ears President Lisa Fager Bediako made clear recently, Rihanna is not the issue – it is Viacom’s complete lack of corporate responsibility. ► More
