Cory
in the House
is about Cory, whose father who works as a chef at the White House. This DVD
contains four different comedy episodes featuring Cory and his friends Newt and
Meena as they try to impress a girl -- and destroy the Presidential Seal; write
a new song for their band; and experience romance and a first kiss.
There are no
disturbing behaviors or violence featured in the series. A few scenes in the
episode entitled “Lip Service” showed mild kissing. A kissing booth is set-up
for Newt as a chance to have a kiss. Another scene in which Cory discusses
“soft lips” while looking at a girl who is putting lip gloss on. The use of
the words “dang” and “shoot” as substitutions for stronger language are featured in one
of the episodes.
There are good
values presented in the series. The episode entitled “Peace, Love, and
Misunderstanding” tells a story about two girls who automatically became enemies
due to their cultural background. In resolution, Cory plans a reunion with the
President to resolve issues between two friends and their parties. Eventually
both learn to accept each other and become friends.
The PTC recommends
this DVD, with parental guidance, for children over the age of 10.
