This
DVD provides an exploration of one of nature’s most magnificent animals, the
polar bear. In an easy-going, casual documentary style, host Jimmy Wilson
travels to Manitoba, Canada, “The Polar Bear Capital of the World.”
White Bear features lots of
footage of polar bears in their native environment, much of it close-up, and
there is a brief look at how manmade pollutants are adversely affecting the
bears and native Indian populations in the arctic region.
Polar bear
expert Dr. Paul Watts looks at the habitat, feeding and mating habits of the
bears. Although the bears’ hunting behavior is also referred to, there is no
actual footage shown of the bears hunting their favorite food, the ring
seal.
White
Bear
is only one in a series educational DVDs which teach children about
different aspects of the environment. For their educational value and
outstanding and family-friendly portrayal of nature, the Parents Television
Council is proud to award Jimmy Wilson Films with the
PTC Seal of ApprovalTM.
The PTC recommends the Jimmy Wilson DVD series for all ages.
