Ollie is a playful puppy whose
colorful imagination turns every day into an adventure. His doggie daydreams
transform the ordinary world into a showcase for fanciful fun.
Puppy Plays the
Classics
follows Ollie and his fellow puppies Patches, Buster, Biscuit, Ginger, Rosie,
Hasty, Chippy, Squeaky as they learn valuable life lessons, all set to classical
music. There are five chapters; in each, a common catch phrase is learned, but
without dialogue. Each story is set to classical music. The puppies learn the
meaning of expressions like “It’s what’s inside that counts,” ”Don’t judge a
book by its cover,” “Treat others as you want to be treated,” “A friend in need
is a friend indeed,” and “Early to bed, early to rise makes a puppy healthy and
wise.”
In the chapter
entitled “Treat others as you want to be treated”, a mean big dog bullies a
smaller dog and steals his toy. The conflict is resolved when two puppies that
had not previously been friendly, join forces to get back their toys. There is
no other problematic subject matter in any of the stories.
This DVD presents
lessons about empathy, treating others with respect, not judging others, and
friendship. The lessons are presented through actions and emotions of the
puppies, while being set to the music of some of the greatest composers of all
time: Mozart, Tchaikovsky, Schubert, and Wagner.
Because of its many
beneficial lessons for young children, the Parents Television Council is proud
to present Puppy Plays the Classics with the PTC Seal of ApprovalTM.
The PTC recommends this DVD for children over the age of 2.
