Trish Fahey has all the answers. A pushy, perfectionist teacher and mother, she demands the best from her students, her family, and all around her – without giving any thought to what others may be going through. But Trish’s life changes in profound ways when she encounters the mysterious Molly…an encounter which brings her together with widowed mother Cindy Kremmer, her struggling son (and Trish’s student) Justin, and emotionally scarred Iraq war vet Jake, in ways Trish could never have imagined. By the time the encounter ends, Trish has learned a powerful lesson in empathy, after having taken a walk in others’ shoes.

There is no content of concern in the film. Both Jake and Trish suffer minor car accidents, but neither is seriously injured, and no blood is seen. Justin is occasionally surly toward his elders and classmates, but this is because of the many problems he is dealing with, and his behavior is not at all excessive.

A Walk in My Shoes is a moving drama in which each character takes a new look at themselves and their lives, coming to sympathize with and help others through listening and understanding. Life is not random or coincidental, the movie teaches, and existence truly has meaning when one helps others…and when you help someone else, you heal yourself.

Because of its important family messages and moving drama, the Parents Television Council is proud to award A Walk in My Shoes with the PTC Seal of ApprovalTM. The PTC recommends this film for all viewers over age five.
