Producers: Trey Parker, Matt Stone, Anne Garefino
Set in the “quiet mountain town” of South Park, Colorado, the animated South Park follows the antics of four foul-mouthed fourth graders Kyle, Stan, Kenny and Cartman. Each week, the boys are drawn into outsized adventures, often with the fate of the world hanging in the balance, and satirically skewer celebrities, pop culture and politicians along the way. Kyle and Stan are relative voices of reason set against the bullying, totalitarian, anti-Semitic and racist Cartman. In early seasons, Kenny, whose face and voice are perpetually masked by a winter jacket, was killed off by the end of each episode.
Depictions of sex and sexual dialogue are frequent and explicit. Episodes from the past few seasons have centered around vaginal flatulence, irradiated and enlarged testicles, and male genitals grown on lab mice. In one episode Kyle is kidnapped and has his mouth surgically sewn into the anus of a Japanese man while a woman’s mouth is sewn into his own to create a single gastrointestinal tract. Depictions of violence are frequent and graphic in nature, with explicit scenes of gun violence, murder, torture, blood and gore typical. Language includes multiple uses of the f- and s-words, “ass****,” “d***,” and most other forms of profanity.
South Park is not recommended for viewers under 18.
