Each week, carpenter Ty Pennington and his team of designers arrive at the home of a deserving family. The family is sent on vacation while the designers, contractors, and a crew of workmen remodel the family’s home in seven days.
The team of designers and workers creatively customizes the families’ homes to improve the quality of life for individuals with specific and unique needs. The crew has consistently gone above and beyond mere home makeovers to supply the families with added surprises. In some episodes, items removed from the remodeled homes have been donated to battered women’s shelters and Habitat for Humanity.
Foul language on the series is very infrequent and, when it does occur, mild. Sex and violence are not problems for the program.
Extreme Makeover: Home Edition is appropriate for children of all ages.
