The Big Bang Theory is a returning to CBS for its sixth season. It revolves around the lives of two ultra-intelligent roommates, Sheldon and Leonard, who have a very attractive female neighbor, Penny. Sheldon and Leonard are amazing at Physics but know nothing about women. Penny has befriended her nerdy neighbors and their equally brainy friends, Raj and Howard and endeavors to teach them about interacting with females and becoming more comfortable in social situations. This season, Sheldon continues to explore the boundaries of his friendship with Amy Farrah Fowler, a neurobiologist who he insists is not his girlfriend, in spite of the fact that they seem to have a special bond. Howard is now married to another scientist, Bernadette, and he is trying to balance his demanding mother and new wife. Leonard finds himself on-again with Penny, who still doesn’t know what level of commitment to have with him.
The Big Bang Theory features frequent sexual content. The majority of it is verbal innuendo and references, including references to masturbation, the sexual relationship between Penny and Leonard, Bernadette and Howard’s bizarre love life, and anatomical references. In one episode, the guys invented a robot hand and Howard ended up in the ER with it in a permanent grip around his penis. In another, Amy Farrah Fowler talks about being given multiple orgasms as part of a lab test. Language used in the series includes the words “hell,” “damn,” “bitch,” “bastard,” and “ass.” As with most sitcoms, violence is not an issue.
The Big Bang Theory is not recommended for viewers under age 18.
