Glenn Martin DDS follows earnest dentist Glenn Martin as he drags his unwilling family in a road trip across America. Cooped up in his mobile dentistry RV are understanding wife Jackie, dim-witted son Conor, bossy daughter Courtney, her North Korean assistant Wendy and friendly dog Canine.
Depictions of violence are especially pronounced for a claymation show airing on Nickelodeon. In one episode Conor attempts to join the circus and is shown throwing a knife into a performer’s eye. Blood pours from the wound. Later, Conor finds his niche in an act which involves him sticking his head into an elephant’s anus. Several audience members vomit profusely at the sight. In another episode, Conor pierces his ear with a hole-puncher whereupon it grows puffy and infected, until a stray bullet hits the ear, releasing a graphic stream of blood and pus. Additionally, jokes frequently center around Canine’s abnormally large anus. Sex scenes have included a seductive operator who attempts to seduce Glenn over the airwaves with lines like, “I'll take you where ever you want to go. Intercourse, Pennsylvania. Moorhead, Minnesota. Even Climax, Florida.” Language includes the words “hell,” “boobs” and “damn” on a regular basis.
As a purported family-friendly show airing on the children’s network Nickelodeon, Glenn Martin DDS treads far over the line of suitable programming for kids.
Glenn Martin DDS is not recommended for viewers under age 14.
