This NCIS spin-off focuses on the west coast operations of the Naval Criminal Investigation Service, including team members G. Callen, Sam Hanna, Kensi Blye, and LAPD liason, Detective Deaks. The team is presided over by Heddy Lange, who manages all the finances, logistics, and personalities. The team often gets tasked with fighting terrorism and helping protect the nation’s western borders. NCIS uses technology and espionage techniques to help the Navy and other government branches to maintain secrecy and seek out threats, especially terrorist groups.
Language used is infrequent and has included “crap,” “damn,” “hell,” “ass,” “bastard,” and “bitch.” Violence is heavy. Typically every episode includes at least one death or dead body depicted, gunfire, and physical fights. There have also been explosions, torture, and other graphic scenes. Recent episodes have featured bombings, extended shoot outs with high powered guns, threats to people’s lives with guns, and physical fights. Sexual content is not an issue beyond occasional flirting between male and female characters.
NCIS: Los Angeles is not recommended for viewers under age 18.
