Happy Endings tells the story of a close-knit group of six friends living in Chicago. Dave is newly single after being left at the altar by his fiancée Alex. Alex is Dave’s ex-fiancée and the owner of a women’s boutique. Jane is Alex’s controlling older sister and is married to Brad, an investment banker. Max is Dave’s and Brad’s sarcastic, unemployed best friend. Lastly, Penny is a single woman looking desperately for Mr. Right. The group is rocked by the demise of Dave and Alex’s relationship and face the challenge of trying to keep the group together.
Sexual content is frequent, consisting mostly of references with occasional depictions. Penny warns Alex abut dating, saying, “It’s just a bunch of poor guys with, like, weird sexual stuff and even when you do it, they still don’t call.” When Dave brings an eighteen-year-old girl on a date, Alex declares him the “Michael Jordan of banging underage sluts.” Profanity is also common on this series. Language includes “ass”, “slut”, “bitch”, “douche”, “hell”, and “skank.” Violence is not a problem in this series.
Happy Endings is not recommended for viewers under age 18.
