Returning for its third season, this comedy revolves around two New York City waitresses who form an unlikely friendship. Max is a sassy, outspoken, working-class woman who lives paycheck to paycheck while dreaming of being a professional baker instead of a waitress and nanny. Caroline is the well-educated daughter of a wealthy man who robbed half of New York City’s wealthy in a Ponzi scheme. This season, Caroline and Max are more established as friends and roommates and they’ve opened a cupcake window in the back room of the diner where they work.  They struggle to make their dream of owning a business come true.

The program contains are constant sexual jokes and references, including breast and vagina references, orgasm jokes, allusions to masturbation, and kinky sex between the cook, Oleg, and the girls’ neighbor, Sophie.  Foul language used in the program includes: “freaking,” “ass,” “damn,” “whore,” “suck,” “ho,” “bitch,” “skank,” “crap,” and “piss.” Violence is not usually an issue, but there has been some slapstick violence, including slap fights, hair pulling between women arguing, a tazer, and a gun threat during a robbery.

2 Broke Girls is not recommended for viewers under age 18.
