Tim Allen brings him Home Improvement-style comedy to the role of Mike Baxter, a manly man’s man frustrated with the lack of masculinity he perceives in today’s society. Adding to his frustration are career woman wife Vanessa and their three daughters: single mother Kristina; girly-girl Mandy; and cynical smart-aleck Eve. At home and at his job as a travel photographer with a wilderness outfitter, Mike bellows his outrage at the lack of manliness among men today.
Last Man Standing features some sexual innuendo and language. When Kristina proudly proclaims “I don’t need a man,” Mike sneers, “You have a baby. You needed a man at least once.” Other episodes feature references to birth control and anatomy. Language used includes “crap,” “hell,” “boobs,” and “jackwang,” and Mike remarks of his office, “It smells like balls in here.” There is also some scatological humor revolving around baby Boyd’s diapers and the like. Violence is not a problem for the series.
Last Man Standing is not recommended for viewers under age 14.
