Ryan King, a sports talk radio host and recent widower, begrudgingly attends group therapy at his boss’ request. The therapy group is led by Lauren, an endearing counselor, whose touchy-feely methods make Ryan uncomfortable. Ryan meets an eclectic group of people who suffer from a variety of life-changing events. But to his surprise, Ryan is helped by the group as much as the group is helped by Ryan. Steven, Ryan’s boss and friend, and Carrie, Ryan’s able and smart-alecky assistant complete the cast of characters who help Ryan process his grief.
Language used included “screw,” “bitch,” “jackass” and bleeped f-words. Sex on the show is mild and included references and innuendo. For example in the first episode, Ryan asks Danny, a group member and former serviceman who has returned home to his wife and a child that he hadn’t fathered, “When was the last time you had sex with a woman?” Violence is not a problem on the series.
Go On is not recommended for viewers under age 14.
