Fifteen years after a mysterious event called “the Blackout,” in which all electrical power and technology ceased functioning, the world is back to pre-industrial society. Former computer programmer Aaron and his friends Miles and Rachel seek to solve the riddle of the Blackout and revive civilization. Season 2 sees the trio settled in the town of Willoughby, Texas. The militaristic “Patriots” rescue Willoughby from bandits, but Miles, Aaron, and Rachel become suspicious of the Patriots’ true intentions when strange things start to occur. Aaron dies when bandits attack him, but he comes back to life with an ability that makes him both a dangerous yet sought-after man.

The focus of Revolution is violence.  The first three episodes of the new season contained a large amount of action-movie style violence, with characters using fists, bows, swords, and guns to do battle. The first episode has Miles slitting the throat of a bandit causing blood to splatter onto his face. The third episode has Titus kidnapping people and draining them of their blood in order to sustain his wife, Jessica, who suffers from diabetes. Language used included “hell”, “son of a bitch,” “ass,” and “damn.” Sexual content on the series included a scene which implies that Charlie has sex with a bartender; they are shown kissing passionately then are shown getting dressed the next morning. Another scene included Charlie arriving at New Vegas where scantily clad women are shown.

Revolution is not recommended for viewers under age 18.
