Here’s a look at what you can expect from Super Bowl LI's commercial ads -- the good, the bad, and the indifferent.
THE GOOD
Skittles
Skittles provides a little humor to the Super Bowl this year as a teenage boy stands in the front yard attempting to get a girl’s attention late at night, by throwing Skittles into her open bedroom window. What he doesn’t get to see from her 2
nd floor window, is that her entire family (and numerous strangers) are all lined up, catching the Skittles he’s throwing, into their mouths.
Bud Light
If you have a friend you’ve had a lot of adventures and memories with over the years, then you’ll relate to this sentimental commercial.
THE BAD
WIX.com
In the middle of a restaurant, a woman is shown taking off her pumps and striking her heel into a man’s face. Another man is shown being forcefully tossed over a table while another is having his face slammed into a table. And those are just a few examples of aggressive behavior in this mini action-based movie.
Mr. Clean
In 2017, it appears that Mr. Clean is bringing “sexy back,” as he cleans a woman’s home in a seductive fashion, as lyrics state, “Got what you want, got what you need. Be your dream boat, be your fantasy” are heard in the background. The commercial ends with, “You gotta love a man who cleans.” Though I couldn’t agree more, there was still something very awkward about that commercial.
THE INDIFFERENT
Lexus
A man is shown morphing his flexible, sometimes bare-chested, body into dance moves around a Lexus. Because there’s just something about a car that makes you wanna boogie, I suppose…
Mercedes
As “Born to be Wild,” plays in the juke box at a bikers bar, men are shown head butting each other, and arm wrestling until they go outside to see Peter Fonda in a Mercedes-AMG GT Roadster.
Febreze
This simple yet amusing Febreze commercial is an ode to toilets and that “halftime bathroom break.”
