Incest, Sex Talk on NBC's Menendez Murders

The network's true crime program is rated appropriate for 14 year olds. Recent episodes of NBC's Law & Order True Crime: The Menendez Murders have featured scenes of incest and sex talk. Based on the 1989 real-life murders of Jose and Kitty Menendez by their sons Lyle and Erik, the program's first episode opened with an extremely graphic and gory recreation of the murder-by-shotgun, before chronicling the criminal investigation of the brothers. Now in the trial phase of the case, the November 2nd episode detailed the sons being sexually molested by their parents. In one explicit scene, mother Kitty molests young Lyle, forcing him to masturbate her while lying under the covers with him in bed. NBC rates this episode of Law & Order True Crime: The Menendez Murders TV-14 DLSV, appropriate for 14 year olds; but many parents might question whether this content is appropriate for their young teens.
