Headstrong Shelby Haygood has helped her elderly parents run their berry farm and pie-making business in the Smoky Mountains for years…but now, Shelby has problems. A greedy developer is pressuring the bank to foreclose on farmland, so he can buy it out and build a gigantic strip mall, thus destroying Pine Valley’s traditional way of life. Shelby’s frustrations are compounded when her former boyfriend, Mason Wyatt, returns to town. Wyatt has become a huge country music star, but though years have passed, Shelby still hasn’t let go of her rage at Wyatt for leaving her to pursue his career. Now, Mason is back, trying to reconnect with his values and his past. Shelby’s last hope is to throw a Chrismas concernt fundraiser, headlined by Mason, to save her farm. But as the day of the concert approaches, Shelby must learn the importance of forgiveness – before time runs out. The first film produced by the INSP network’s theatrical motion picture production company, INSP Films, Christmas in the Smokies is a truly heart-warming, inspirational film. With a soundtrack jam-packed with country-flavored Christmas favorites, the film also champions the importance of faith, family, forgiveness, and the triumph of the Christmas spirit. The PTC applauds INSP for delivering a winning story in its first step into the world of original film production. Because of its family-friendly values, the Parents Television Council is proud to award Christmas in the Smokies with the PTC Seal of Approval®. The PTC recommends this movie for viewers over age five. INSP is available on DISH Network channel 259, DirecTV 364, and over 2800 cable systems. To find INSP in your area, click here.
