Parents: Beware CBS Rudolph Special Next Week!

Written by PTC | Published December 5, 2014

This past Halloween, viewers were horrified when ABC ran a sexually explicit episode of Scandal immediately after a Peanuts holiday cartoon. Now, parents may face a similar situation next week. On Tuesday, December 9th, CBS is scheduled to show the perennial holiday favorite Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer at 8 p.m. Eastern (7 p.m. Central/Mountain). Immediately following will be a rerun of the crime series NCIS; and then at 10 ET/9 Central, the network is showing its annual Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show, featuring women strutting around in underwear and posing in extreme sexual positions. It is a virtual certainty that the Rudolph special, intended for kids, will contain commercials for the explicit Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show airing two hours later. And once again, parents who anticipated their children seeing a fun, innocent holiday special will be forced to explain to children why women are dancing around in their underwear. If CBS is a responsible broadcaster, it will take steps to ensure that ads for the Victoria’s Secret special do not air during Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer next Tuesday night.
