The Parents Television Council congratulated its Advisory Board Member Paul Porter, who has launched a new radio station in Orlando, Fla., today. The station, WHPB 98.5FM, serves the primarily African American community of Pine Hills and Metro Orlando. Porter serves as program director.
“We offer congratulations to Paul and his business partner Paul Allen Billings for starting this radio station offering programming of importance to the local community. We know that the station’s goal is to truly serve and empower the community in Metro Orlando, and by the station offering a mentorship program in media and entertainment to local residents, the station is doing just that,” said PTC President Tim Winter.
“Paul Porter has been a powerful voice advocating for a safer media environment for children, stemming from his experience in the music business as program director and talent for BET, and most currently, as founder of Rap Rehab. He understands the power of music and has used his career to educate aspiring young artists. We wish him tremendous success in his new role.”
