JackTaylor The Parents Television Council mourns the passing of Jack C. Taylor, founder of Enterprise Rent-A-Car, and a longtime benefactor of the PTC. PTC President Tim Winter offers the following remarks: “The term ‘American Hero’ can mean a lot of different things to a lot of different people. But when one man serves his nation valiantly during wartime; when he creates a company that goes on to employ – and provide a stable family income to – over a hundred thousand of our fellow citizens; when he gives away almost a billion dollars to charitable causes without asking any recognition or notoriety; and when he hopes that his legacy simply will be that he was ‘a nice guy’; THAT is the very epitome of an American Hero. And at the age of 94, Jack was taken from us far too early. “During my life I’ve been honored to meet presidents, senators, congressmen, Hollywood legends, millionaires and billionaires, and captains of industry. Out of all of them, Jack Taylor is the greatest man I’ve ever known. While I am brokenhearted today by his passing, for the rest of my life I will be grateful for, and inspired by, his positive, uplifting and inspiring life. “I send my heartfelt condolences to Andy and Jo Ann, and to the entire Taylor family.”
