Let’s Put New Pressure on Disney to Stop Harming Children

Dear Tim,

Like you, I’m gratified to hear that Disney execs admit their shows influence our kids . . . and stunned that even with that knowledge, they are pushing obscene shows like PEN15 and A Teacher that harm kids. Let’s investigate if they are legally accountable and put a stop to this.

PETITION to Investigate Disney Corporation’s Potential Illegalities Regarding Child Sex Depictions That Harm American Children

To: The Honorable Dick Durbin, Chairman, U.S. Senate Committee on the Judiciary, The Honorable Chuck Grassley, Ranking Member, U.S. Senate Committee on the Judiciary

I’m standing with members of the Parents Television and Media Council (PTC) to ask that you hold hearings into potential criminal or civil violations by the Walt Disney Company.

Disney executives have stated very publicly that their programming influences youth thinking and behavior. And quite responsibly, they have eliminated images of people smoking on children’s programming.

Yet KNOWING how they INFLUENCE CHILDREN, Disney-owned networks produces and distributes streaming programs like PEN15, portraying a 13-year-old girl masturbating; and A Teacher, romanticizing with sexually explicit scenes an abusive affair between an adult teacher and an underage minor.

Please convene Senate Judiciary Committee hearings to determine whether there is criminal and/or civil liability against Disney so that this damaging programming can be exposed and stopped. Disney execs need to answer to the American people!

With great concern,
